Product presentation that works!
by
As a new media designer and business owner, I try to spend a few hours each week cruising the Internet reading blogs, news, and web sites looking for great ideas. This week I came across a really nice implementation of a mini-site that does an outstanding job of telling the full story about the product.
It’s a mini site for Toyota’s new Tundra — I feel like they really took to heart the fact that people want to know facts about a particular product especially when it comes time to actually shell out money.
Here are a few key features that I think makes this product presentation a five star piece.
- Their use of video in each of four key ‘product-centric’ uses: The River, The Job Site, The Quarry, and The Ranch. This gives me a great look at the product in action.
- As each of these videos play they periodically pause at key points to offer a chance to learn more about a particular key feature being shown. If the user is not interested he can continue to watch the current video.
- If the user is interested in learning more about that particular feature, he can click through to launch more details about that feature. This consists of either more video clips or some animation… A really nice touch! It lets me choose if I want to learn more or not. And when I do want, I really do learn more!
As a producer of rich media products, I’ll be looking for ways to add this to my customers’ sales presentation tools. I think it’s an incredible way to present the great things about a product and let the user determine how much information he wants to see.
What do you think?
